Grief touches every part of your inner world.
Grief can come from losing a loved one, a relationship, a dream, a home, a sense of identity, or a version of a life you thought you were going to have. It can be sudden or slow, expected, or shocking. It’s challenging to find your way in a world that has changed so much that it no longer feels familiar.
Grief is a part of life. It is not a problem to be solved but a human experience we cannot avoid. We can do our best to attend to the grief with space, compassion, and support.
Grief can come upon you like a tidal wave without warning. It isn’t a single emotion but rather a constellation of inner experiences, with feelings ranging from overwhelmed and intense sadness to anger mixed with relief and gratitude, as well as waves of guilt, hope, and despair in the same breath.
At other times, you are just numb, wondering how the world keeps going on.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an informed therapy that will help you unbend from the strong emotions and create a greater sense of internal safety. We will work to support the parts that are working hard at trying to help the system from being overwhelmed and comfort the parts that are holding the sorrow, fear, or longing.
Once we build inner stability, your system will feel safer, and grief can move through more naturally and gently.
